Firmware Release Notes

v1.8

April 2026

This release brings one of our biggest updates yet — a new account system, a sport-specific mode, and several training quality improvements.

What's New

  • Account & Profiles — Sign in to personalize your training, protect access with a passcode, and easily switch between multiple users.

  • Ski Mode — A dedicated mode designed for ski-specific power and endurance.

  • Remember Cable Length — A new option to apply the saved resistance starting point upon wake-up, maintaining continuous tension even when the cable is attached to equipment and cannot fully retract.

  • Isokinetic Optimization — Refined resistance control and fluid transitions, featuring Eccentric Hold to maintain resistance even when movement pauses during the eccentric phase.

  • Auto Load/Unload — Enhanced stability detection for more reliable and accurate triggering.

  • Performance & Power — Low Power Mode and general stability improvements.

v1.7.1.66

January 2026

What's New

  • Expanded Resistance — Chains/Inverse Chains ratios can now exceed 100% (available in Sport Mode).

  • Twin Mode Update — Isokinetic Mode is now supported in Twin Mode.

  • Custom Alerts — New toggle to turn on/off startup and wake-up tones and vibrations.

  • General Fixes — Stability improvements and minor bug fixes.

v1.7

August 2025

Summer '25 update — four powerful additions for a more complete training experience.

What's New

  • Rowing Mode — Smooth, high-rep resistance designed for full-body flow.

  • Auto Unload — Automatically drops resistance at the end of each set. Pairs with Auto Load.

  • Isokinetic Mode Upgraded — Adjustable eccentric overload is now available in Isokinetic Mode.

  • Isometric Test Upgraded — Longer, configurable holds with more measurement options for better performance insight.

v1.6

March 2025

Spring '25 update — full resistance customization, unlimited eccentric range, and hands-free loading.

What's New

  • Custom Curves — Fine-tune your resistance profiles with full granular control.

  • Unlimited Eccentric — The 100% eccentric cap has been removed.

  • Auto Load — Hands-free resistance activation at the start of your set.

v1.5

December 2024

Winter '24 update — a new test mode, smarter resistance tools, and quality-of-life additions.

What's New

  • Isometric Test Mode — Measure force up to 400 lbs and track real-time performance in Beyond+.

  • Inverse Chains — Adaptive resistance for optimized muscle engagement throughout the range of motion.

  • Upgraded Resistance Band — Adjustable lengths for improved range of motion and smoother workouts.

  • Smart Pin — Quick weight changes with multiple custom presets.

  • Timer — Track cooldowns, sets, and reps with ease.

v1.4

August 2024

Major training control update — velocity-based and advanced eccentric modes, revamped resistance band, and automatic firmware updates.

What's New

  • Isokinetic Mode — Maintains a constant movement speed (0.1–2.0 m/s) throughout your full range of motion. Ideal for rehabilitation, strength, and power development.

  • Negative Eccentric Mode — Full control over the lowering phase to maximize hypertrophy and strength gains.

  • 15–200 lbs Gearless Resistance Band — Two distinct resistance profiles with precise pound-by-pound adjustments across a wider range.

  • Auto-Updates — VOLTRA I now updates automatically on power-on. Enabled by default; can be disabled in settings.

v1.3

April 2024

  • Eccentric Mode Upgraded Maximum overload increased from 60% to 100% for more intensive training.

v1.2

March 2024

What's New

  • Eccentric Mode Upgraded Revised initiation and resistance feel for a smoother overall experience.

  • Inverse Resistance Band Toggle the resistance band experience in revise, allowing for max resistance as soon as you pull.

  • Quick Adjust Adjustable quick taps to adjust the weight up or down by set amounts, located at the top and bottom of the slider.

v1.0

October 2023

Meet VOLTRA I — What sets VOLTRA I apart is its three dynamic training mode, supported by a set of intelligent assistive features:

  • Weight Training Mode Controlled, steady resistance with ultra-low inertia for effective training with a lower risk of injury.

    • Eccentric & Concentric Resistance Modes Target specific muscle groups with ease.

  • Resistance Band Mode Resistance increases progressively as the cable extends, simulating the resistance experienced when stretching a resistance band.

  • Damper Mode Resistance rises with movement speed for velocity-based training, opening avenues for training specific moves in-depth. Think pitches, swings, sprint bursts and more.

  • Assist Mode Intelligently detect and reduce resistance if a user is struggling. Perfect for physiotherapy or lowering risk of injury.
