Understanding Settings
A walkthrough of every settings menu on VOLTRA I — General, Safety, and Advanced — so you can configure the device to match your training style.
Navigating the settings menu
Tap the gear icon on the home screen to open Settings. The menu is divided into three main sections: General, Safety, and Advanced.
General settings
The General menu handles everyday device preferences.
Warranty — displays your warranty expiration date. Your warranty period starts on the date of activation, not the date of purchase.
Battery — view current battery level and charging status. VOLTRA I features smart charging algorithms that optimize battery lifespan, so no manual charge management is needed.
Screen & Display — adjust brightness, auto-sleep timer, and display preferences. A screen protector is available separately for high-traffic training environments.
Units — switch between metric and imperial: kg or lbs for weight, m or ft for distance. Changes apply immediately to all on-screen readouts.
Date & Time — set date, time, and time zone. Keeping this accurate ensures your training session timestamps and data exports are correctly logged.
Sound & Vibration — controls audio and haptic feedback. General Intensity adjusts the overall feedback level (Normal by default). Startup Beep toggles the power-on sound. Unload Alerts warns you before resistance drops due to inactivity.
Startup Logo — customize the logo that appears when VOLTRA I powers on. Requires firmware 1.0.4.1 or later. You can also configure this through the Beyond+ app: Device > tap "..." in the upper right > Customize Logo.
Firmware Update — check and install the latest firmware. Make sure battery is above 20% and Wi-Fi is connected before updating.
About & diagnostics
Found under Settings > General > About. Contains device identification and diagnostic tools:
Model Number — your VOLTRA I hardware model.
Serial Number — unique to your unit. You'll need this for warranty registration, support tickets, and extended warranty activation.
Wi-Fi Address and Bluetooth — MAC addresses for network troubleshooting.
Exception Log — view error logs recorded by the device. Useful context if you're reporting an issue to support.
Send Report — submits a diagnostic log to Beyond Power's engineering team. Requires Wi-Fi. If support asks you to send a report, navigate here: Settings > General > About > Send Report.
Lifetime Stats — cumulative usage data for your VOLTRA I.
Reset
Settings > General > Reset > Factory Reset restores all settings to defaults. This can resolve Wi-Fi connection issues and other software glitches. It does not erase your warranty or training data stored in Beyond+.
Safety settings
Found under Settings > Safety. These features protect you during training and are mostly enabled by default.
Slip Detection (on by default) — When training with over 30 lbs, if you accidentally loosen the handle, VOLTRA I slows down cable speed to prevent the cable from snapping back. Leave this on unless you have a specific reason to disable it.
Assist Mode (on by default) — Automatically reduces resistance if you're struggling to complete a rep. Choose a duration (1–5s) for when the assist kicks in. Shorter durations provide quicker intervention.
Child Protection (off by default) — Prevents unauthorized use. When enabled, a long press is required to unlock the device.
Accessory Guard (off by default) — Additional safety layer for when heavy accessories are attached.
Battery Health and Cable Health are also displayed here so you can monitor device condition over time.
Advanced settings
Found under Settings > Advanced. These unlock performance features for experienced users.
Sport Mode (off by default) — Controls maximum weight and cable speed limits. The factory default caps weight at 100 lbs to protect new users. Enable Sport Mode when you're comfortable and ready for the full 200 lb range and faster cable speeds. A confirmation warning will appear.
Dock Unlock — Controls the mount locking mechanism behavior.
